Anna in season four was amazing. She was interesting, earnest, peaceful and kind. Then of course we find out she’s an angel and everything seemed to change. She made season four really memorable for me and is one of the bright spots in it. 

She savored her humanity, she appreciated what humans forget to. Simple things like chocolate and love, things we take for granted. Free will and the ability to mess up, fail, feel doubt and hope, love and anger, things forbidden for angels. Sympathy and goodness, along with all the bad. She chose to hold onto those things and just let them wash over her.

I hated, hated, the direction they took Anna in in season five. Instead of keeping her the one bit of light in a world of asshole-angels, they turned her into one as well. I’m still disappointed with that.
